An eligible non-resident can play in NHGA Championships if he has been a member in good standing of an NHGA member club for the last three complete golf seasons and has played a minimum of 25 rounds of golf at this club in each of the three seasons. A letter signed by the President of the member club must accompany his first entry, stating that the player complies with NHGA eligibility requirements. Entries are subject to approval or rejection at any time by the NHGA. Entrants must have an up-to-date NHGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index or play scratch. Entries close June 3rd or when a field of 50 teams has entered.
SCHEDULE: Competition will be held on June 9 and 10, 2012. The June 9th round will be at Ridgewood Country Club and the June 10th round will be at Canterbury Woods Country Club.
FORMAT: Tournament is 36 holes stroke play, 2-ball best ball, gross and net winners. Gross and net champions will be the teams with the lowest 36-hole gross and net scores respectively. NOTE: The Net division will be played at 90% handicap, with a maximum of 25 strokes given to any player. Any ties for low score in the gross division will be played off immediately on a hole or holes to be determined by the Committee and will be 2-ball best ball format, low gross score to be the champion. Any ties for low score in the net division will be broken by a match of cards using the USGA method found in the Rules of Golf, Appendix I, Section 10. All other ties in either division will be split. Starting times will be arranged in groups of four paired by the NHGA. Field will be re-paired on second day according to scores, high gross scores to low gross scores and then high net scores to low net scores.
ENTRY PROCEDURES: Entrants shall apply online or by printing out an entry form and mailing it to the NHGA office with the entry fee. Every team shall pay entry fee of $200. Every team shall designate which division (gross or net) that they will compete in. Entry fee includes cart for both days and prizes. Entry forms must be mailed to the NHGA office with the entry fee. When signing up, you may list both players on entry form or only one; if only one name is entered at the time of signup, the NHGA office must be notified before the closing date of entries of who the second player is. Entry forms received after the first 50 teams or after June 3rd, whichever comes first, will be held by the NHGA office in the event of withdrawals. The late entry forms will be entered into the field on a first-come first-served basis. Replacements will be taken at the tournament site based on the order that the late entries were received. In order to maintain their waiting list position, replacement players must be at the site prior to the first starting time; otherwise they will go to the end of the list. Players will be notified of their replacement status prior to the tournament. No other replacements will be accepted at the site. Entries by telephone, telegraph, e-mail or fax will not be accepted.
REFUND POLICY: Entry fee, less $10.00 service charge, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NHGA is notified by phone (603-569-3471) or email prior to close of entries.
